Ilker Altaygil

Our We regret to inform you that our beloved member, past President and the long running principal of our school, İlker Altaygil,  passed away last night after a courageous battle with illness.

He will be laid to rest in Long Island Washington Memorial Park cemetery in a small funeral ceremony with his most immediate family present following New York State regulations.

Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife Sevinç, daughter Selda, son Eren, rest of his family and all his loved ones and our whole community.
May God grant him peace & mercy.

Fikret Yurter

Our former President, the designer of the Crimean Tatar Martyrs’ Monument, leading the way in purchase and renovation of our building, had dedicated his life to the Crimean Tatar cause.

He wore many hats in our Association – he was a member of our Board of Trustees and was the Board President for some years, all the while representing us in the Federation of Turkish American Associations, and taking care of electrical wiring in our building.
Our deepest condolences go out to his wife Hüsniye Kızıltuğ and daughter Lale, and the rest of his family and all his loved ones and our community.

Beloved son of our dear members Abdulhakim and Hacı Remziye Saraylı, passed away  on Wed, April 22nd.

İbrahim Muhtar Altan
He was born in 1923 in Crimea’s Kapskor village from the beautiful  Yalıboyu coast, then his family was forced to leave his beloved homeland during the Second World War and emigrated to America via Turkey, then spent the rest of his life in New York.
He never broke away from Crimea, always extended a helping hand to his homeland, all the while helping build our Association building out of nothing, and instilling love for Crimea in all his children.

Our deepest sympathies go out to his kids Mübeyyin & Lemis Altan, Hatice & Fikret Yurter,  Mustafa & Huriye Altan, Metin & Deniz Altan, grandkids Bora, Ayser Yurter, Kerem, Burak, Derya, Timuçin and Nevin Altan and 8 great grandkids. May God grant him peace and mercy.

Servet Alçın

Servet Alçın, our member from the 60’s & 70’s has passed away after a long battle with cancer in California.
