GRANT NOTICE
| To All Members of the American Association of Crimean Turks (AACT) I am pleased to convey that our organization, The American Association of Crimean Turks, (AACT) is being considered as potential grant award candidate by the Turkish American Federation (TADF) for Advocacy on Participatory Citizenry Project. The exact amount of the Grant is in process of being formulated. The grant recipient will be The American Association of Crimean Turks. Project Mission : It is designed to foster communication between District Representatives and its respective Youth constituents and to promote collaborative initiatives with Turkish American Federation (TADF)/Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) in advancement of Turkic/Turkish Americans representing new and potential demographics.Task of the Project: The project will cover how to contact District Representatives, how to articulate the issues of the day, and through this engagement Youth will learn and understand the role of District Representatives, Institutions, and the processes that serve to realize the critical relationships between government and its citizens.
Activities: The Project will be implemented through a collaborative effort between TADF and The AACT to educate civic literacy to its members. The Project will conduct trips to District Representative home office and Washington DC.
Who can participate? We are currently accepting resumes from students range of age is between 17- 29 and request a cover letter (one page) stating the reason/s for your interest in participating for the Advocacy on Participatory Citizenry Project. The deadline for participants is June 2009 and the Grant award deadine is December 31, 2010.
We will conduct two tier interview, one with the President of the American Association of Crimean Turks and second interview to be conducted by TADF staff member resulting in the formation of a Youth team to participate in the stated Project.
