Commemoration of May 18, 1944

The commemoration of the deportation of  Crimean Turks/Tatars from their homeland on May 18, 1944 is marked as one of the most important eventd of the American Association of Crimean Turks.  On an annual basis worldwide all Crimean Turk/Tatar organizations in unison with the Crimean Tatar Mejlis and the World Congress of Crimean Tatars gather with the Crimean Tatar flag and banners as reminder of the genocide committed against the Crimean Tatars by the policies of Soviet communist leader Josef Stalin.  

The American Association of Crimean Turks annually produces press releases and demonstrates  across the United Nations Headquarters  reminding leaders of the world of ”mans inhumanity to man”.
